1. Information We Collect

We collect information to provide better services to all our users. This includes:

• Personal Information: Name, phone number, email address, profile picture, vehicle details, and government identification documents (DL, RC, Insurance) for driver verification.
• Account Credentials: Mobile numbers and OTP authentication data.
• Financial & Payment Data: Transaction history, payout details, and wallet balances.
• Device & Usage Data: IP address, device model, operating system version, and app performance logs.

2. Location Data Collection & Usage (Foreground & Background)

Explicit Disclosure on Location Access: Pickmi collects precise location data (GPS, network location) from your mobile device to operate our ride-hailing services effectively.

• Foreground Location Access: When the Pickmi app is open and visible on your screen, we access your device GPS to display nearby drivers, calculate trip distances, provide turn-by-turn navigation, and estimate trip fares.
• Background Location Access (Driver App): When you are logged into the Pickmi Driver App and set your status to "ONLINE", the app collects location data even when the app is closed, minimized, or running in the background. This continuous tracking is mandatory for:
  • Matching incoming ride requests to the closest available driver.
  • Providing live trip progress tracking to riders for emergency safety.
  • Calculating precise trip distance and tolls for fair driver payouts.
  • Enabling safety emergency alerts (SOS button) during active trips.

Note: Background location collection stops immediately when the driver switches their status to "OFFLINE" or logs out of the application.

3. How We Use Your Location Data

Your location data is used strictly for operational purposes:

• To connect passengers with nearby driver partners.
• To calculate accurate route distances and estimated arrival times (ETA).
• To provide live tracking links to passenger emergency contacts.
• To detect route deviations, safety incidents, or vehicle breakdowns.
• We DO NOT sell, rent, or trade your location data to third-party marketing companies.

4. Sharing and Disclosure of Information

We only share your information under the following limited circumstances:

• With Passengers/Drivers: When a trip is confirmed, the driver's name, rating, vehicle number, and real-time location are shared with the passenger (and vice versa).
• With Service Providers: Secure payment gateways, SMS OTP providers (Twilio / 2Factor), and database hosts (Supabase).
• For Legal Compliance: When required by law enforcement or government authorities for safety and emergency investigations.

5. Data Security & Protection

We implement industry-standard technical measures including HTTPS SSL encryption, Row Level Security (RLS) policies, and secure access controls to protect your data from unauthorized access or disclosure.

6. Your Data Rights & Account Deletion

• Permission Controls: You can grant or revoke location permissions at any time via your device OS settings. However, disabling location access will prevent ride matching functionality.
• Account & Data Deletion: You have the right to request permanent deletion of your Pickmi account (Rider or Driver) and associated personal data at any time. You can submit an account deletion request online without opening the mobile app by visiting our dedicated Account Deletion Request Page.
